Carmen Okpattah, proprietor of Velvet Waves Salon, is on a mission to provide clients with excellent hair care in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
As a child, she began her craft by making her dolls’ hair very pretty, and she always admired her friend’s curls. And now, she enjoys working with her hands and has developed her creative passion for hair of all types.
Carmen takes a simple, holistic approach to hair care, believing that less is more. She has an interest in natural products including essential oils and herbs, and developing her own recipes – even for stimulating hair growth! And she enjoys continuing her education by attending classes to stay abreast on the latest trends in hair care and styling including clean beauty, featuring Innersense Organic Beauty hair products.
Carmen is keen to share her passion for hair. She is a Sisterlocks® trainee, former Deva Curl educator, and also works as a stylist for charity events and photo and commercial shoots, bringing her creative vision to new audiences.
